Multimedia Campaign
On April 8, 2024, a celestial event captured the nation, with Dallas, TX, home to The Dallas Morning News, in its path of totality. A request for display ads grew into a full multimedia campaign reflecting the event's impact felt across the country.
The genesis of this project was a simple request for some digital display ads. Through some excitement and convincing from the team, we were given the green light to execute a full-blown multimedia campaign. For this campaign, I had the opportunity to concept and design all of the elements that were executed. We wanted the overall feeling of the campaign to reflect the ominous tone of such a rare celestial event.
The hero of the campaign is a large depiction of an eclipse paired with thin, hollowed out typography. The typography sensationalizes the subject, while making the design look more vast and ominous. Some inspiration for the look and feel of the campaign were retro science publications and sci-fi movie posters.
